Looking Out Towards the River Jumna

Looking Out Towards the River Jumna

The Taj Mahal (hidden in the fog) is to the far right across the (unseen) river Jumna. The Jasmine Tower is on the left. Two moats surrounded the fort. The outer was filled with water and populated by crocodiles. The inner moat was dry and populated by tigers. According to our tour guide, occasionally an elephant would be let out into the tiger moat to provide some “entertainment”.

This view gives bit of perspective to immense size of the fort.
