A Self-Locking Door?

A Self-Locking Door?

We stopped for lunch today at the Subway Restaurant at the Pleasant View, UT exit. We were on our way from home in Pocatello headed to our daughter Heather’s home in North Salt Lake. When we went into the restaurant, the mens room was locked, usually meaning someone was in there. Twenty-five minutes later, after we had finished our lunch, the door was still locked and no one had come out. I asked the store manager to check the restroom. She grumbled, got her keys, and unlocked the door. No one was inside.

Then I noticed this sign on the door. I checked the lock … when the door is locked the handle works just fine inside the bathroom, opening the door. Pulling the door closed behind you leaves the restroom locked. Further, the locking mechanism is very difficult to manipulate. No wonder the manager was grumbling. I’m sure she gets to unlock the restroom several times a day.

Definitely a FAIL restroom.
