[Nina Smith] the week

Hello Family,

Transfers are done and the new companionships are learning how to adjust to yet another change. For the most part they are able to make things work. This time around I think there was only one companionship that stayed together. It is actually good I think to have changes. You get to know the other missionaries more. Once the transfers are done we then have on the Friday following we have a French Toast breakfast, with sausage, and drinks, yogurt and fruit. No one complains so it must be a good thing. We do this right on on small street. Works out well.

We also had the give and take stuff. Sisters bringing to our garage things they do not want and then taking things that they see that they want. after 3 full days of them bringing and taking then I pack the rest up and take it to the give and take area and leave it there for others to go through the treasures. I managed to find some books and I think I brought home perhaps 6 books. That is rare to have so many books. Nice when all of this is free.

We have had s few things that needed to be done at the various apartments. Vacuum broken, refrigerator not working so had to get an ice chest and some ice until that could be fixed, a microwave that does not work well, someone needing more blankets, or someone not have a lunch and so forth and so on. It keeps us busy.

The walking on the beach continues to be a fun thing to do. I always find something different to look at. Yesterday I found a HUGE very long rope. It is very huge. I tried to get it out of the water but I could not hardly move it. So it is probably still there. I have managed to find some more coral, always a bonus.

I met a couple from England today and had such a nice chat with them. They are major travelers. They have been to 2 of the islands and then doing one more this week and then to San Francisco. Then home and then off for the next 4-5 months at a different place. Sounded like fun to me. I also met a gal that does genealogy and we had good chat as well. We had a children’s choir at the visitor center this evening and that was very good. I had invited two people to come and I was surprised when they came. We had well over 100 people there. I always enjoy the musical programs.

So life here on this island is pretty darn nice. I already know I will miss the beach part when we leave. So I might as well keep checking it all out while I can. Tomorrow I will head out for a longer walk. I will hope to get up early and walk for about 3-4 miles. Would be nice. I hope all is doing well your way. We love all of the family so much. Take care and I will be in touch once again.

Love, Mother.
