I have never in my life waited outside a restaurant for an hour and a half with no end to the waiting in sight. But here I am waiting to get into Sally’s, a pizza restaurant in Little Italy in downtown New Haven. This was my sister-in-law’s major request — to eat here. I’m not alone, however. There are about 20 people in line behind us. We’re at the front of the line and have been waiting at this spot for about 15 minutes. This better be good pizza.
