[Missionletter] Starting again

Hello Family,

I have not been a very good mission letter writer. I am trying to get myself back going again. It would be also good to have family members sending a letter out as well.

When we first came out on our mission I really had no idea as to what to expect. Now that we have been here for 15 months we certainly have a good feel as to what it is like. It is work!! It is fun !! It is interesting !! It is so many things rolled into so many other things. We are busy at the visitor center everyday except for our P-Day, but lately we are even busy on that day. We have had a great many Chinese people coming to the visitor center. The tour guides know that it is a good place to take them. The Chinese love to poise for others. Like the fellow companions. In turn they love to have their pictures taken with the sister missionaries and with any child that especially has blonde hair. They want to hold them and take pictures of them. The children usually are okay with it. They bring very long scarves and use them so the wind will have them blowing behind them. It is all quite interesting. Yeaterday we had 5 buses in the parking lot at once. Just imagine each bus having around 10-15 and sometimes 30 or more people per bus. It is so very busy. They come into the building to check things out and to use the rest room and they are usually very interested in the pamphlets that we have and a great many of them want to take them with them. We have run out of Book of Mormons in the Simplified book area so we then give them the paper pamphlets which they are also interested in. They are very interesting to watch, while they are busy going all around the outside areas taking many pictures of everything. I enjoy watching them. We have Chinese speaking sister missionaries on every shift and that makes a big difference.

It is a busy place from Thursday thru Sunday. People love being on the grounds. It is peaceful and beautiful. Sunrise and Sunset are especially pretty. As I have surely mentioned that the people are where it is at !!! They are so nice and so fun to talk with. We had a couple that came from Easter Island yesterday. I found out that Easter Island is part of Chili. It is a very small speck in the ocean !! There was a couple that was in the center about 4 weeks ago and they were from Marshallese area. The place they were on was 1 mile one way and 3 miles the other way. I am pretty sure that would not be where I would want to be !! When I click with some of the people I ask if I can take a picture of them. They have always said yes.

I continue to love riding the bike and also walking on the beach. I try to go almost every day. We have missionaries over to eat our place at least 1-2 times a week. It is nice to get to know them better. I make treats for the sisters from time to time. This week we get to inspect the pads where they live. This is always a big thing for the sisters. The cleanest pad get a prize. It has been flowers before but this time it will be some pound bread or cookies. Pound bread is loved by all.

We will soon begin to do some sight seeing. We only have 10 months and I want to make sure we get to see the sights now and not wait any longer. We had a Christmas present of a helicopter ride for 40 minutes and we will be doing that real soon. It will be interesting. Also fun to have something to look forward to.

Well it is time for me to get some letters written and to work on my journal. The cool breeze is the best. Dinner is done and Roland washed the dishes. Grateful for that kindness tonight. Because I have been working out more I have not been at full speed. So not doing dishes is a bonus. Thanks hon. Life is good.

I miss each and everyone of you. You are all the best of the best. Perhaps take some time to send a note. It would be nice to hear from everyone. Meanwhile. I love you all. Till next time around. Love, Mothe
