Fountain-powering Cistern

Atop this structure is a large cistern that holds the water for the fountains in the reflecting pools. The water is now pumped into and from the cisterns with electric pumps. Originally, the cisterns were filled by pumps driven by donkey power. The elevation of the cisterns provided the water pressure to the fountains. With the electric pumps, the fountains are now much taller than they would have been originally.
